Appeals

The Medicare Part B appeals process consists of five levels:

• Redetermination
• Hearing
• Administrative Law Judge (ALJ) hearing
• Departmental Appeals Board (DAB) review
• Judicial review in federal court

This section discusses the first two levels, redetermination and hearings, which the carrier conducts.
